Be Part of the Art

April 7th marks 150 days until we celebrate 50 years of the Upper Arlington Labor Day Arts Festival. To commemorate this milestone, the Cultural Arts Division collaborated with Igloo Letterpress to create a limited-edition poster of the Festival’s 50th Anniversary logo.

Cultural Arts Coordinator AnnMarie McCallister worked with Igloo Letterpress’s Allison ualdafChapman to create a logo based on four traditional typefaces that would have been in use 50 years ago. UA’s Cultural Arts Commissioners and Festival Planning Committee were treated to an evening where they were able to pull prints off of Igloo’s traditional hand press.

Be part of the art and purchase a limited-edition print for $19.66 at either Fresh Crafts Gallery at 2068 Arlington Avenue or in the Parks and Recreation Department in the Municipal Services Center at 3600 Tremont Road. All proceeds will support the annual Labor Day Arts Festival.

Below are some pictures from the event at Igloo Press. Commissioners and city officials learned more about printing and got an opportunity to try it for themselves.
